Introducing...Arian Jr.'s First Two Weeks of Life!

Oh, what can a pair of new parents say?!...where to begin...First, we thank the Lord for a healthy baby! We are in love with our baby boy (and each other obviously)!!! Every little thing we are soaking in...his smile, his little fingers and toes, even those poopy diapers...we know, we know...I'm sure the veteran parents are saying "that sentiment will change quickly"...but with everything being so new we can't help but to "oooh" and "aaah" over every little thing! We simply cannot stop staring at him. We hope you enjoy the tons of pictures to come...with this post you'll get a glimpse of our arrival at the hospital before AJ's big debut, through his first two weeks of life. We'll try to keep consistent with naming who's who in the picture in relation to AJ...enjoy, and please feel free to leave any comments on this posting (or any posting), by selecting the link "comments" at the bottom of each individual posting...these are the memories we want to share with him as he gets older :)

The Babies R Us edition

-Babies R Us is a very intense store on a Saturday-

I repeat, Babies R Us is a very intense store on a Saturday.

On February 7th, I realized how much estrogen(and very little testosterone) Babies R Us has. Sure, I know that husbands go there with their wives to help pick out things for the baby but you don't get the full scope until you visit Babies R Us on a Saturday.

Trust me. Babies R US is ALL THINGS BABY! Anything that you can imagine(and can't imagine) a baby would need is in this store. I would think that Babies R Us is an expectant mother's paradise. I wonder if it's the same as me going to a record store the same size as Babies R Us with nothing but vinyl from front to back. Hmmm.....................

I will say that this has been an eye opening experience. I've become much more educated on things that I didn't have a clue about. From baby furniture, to information from our prenatal classes, to the intensity level of Babies R Us on a Saturday, and the list goes on. I mean, you hear about baby-related things in passing or in casual conversations but you never realize the full magnitude of it until you're actually right in the middle of it!(Go Dad!)

So now we are just waiting for Little AJ to get here and once he does I'll be blogging everyday!

36 Weeks and Counting...

SPOILER ALERT!!...if you are wanting to wait to see Arian Jr. until he actually makes his big debut (without the "preview" of later ultrasound pics) you'll want to bypass this posting...otherwise, enjoy!
As our pregnancy winds down (we're now at 36 weeks) we'd like to share a collection of AJ's ultrasound pics...now, we know very well that generally speaking ultrasound pics are not that visually telling...I mean, let's be honest, an arm looks like a leg, etc. but, every once in a while you'll see an image that makes you go, "...awwwwww...look at his little fingers..." we'll try to help you decipher what's what via a description, but you'll likely have to use your imagination for the rest :)

7 WEEKS

A little bigger than a twinkle in mom and dad's eye

20 WEEKS

The caption on the screen reads "Hi Mom and Dad"

Arian and I got a real kick out of this pic...AJ is flexing his bicep...LOL!

As the baby turned on his side, you could see his spine and rib cage...

Another arm shot...no flexing this time though :)

If you look closely, you can see AJ's profile...

The caption on the screen reads, "foot"...I said, "if you say so..."

Another profile shot...we are just in awe, what a little miracle!

It's a boy!

Another "boy" shot...

...and one more "boy" shot for good measure...

35 WEEKS
(weight at 35 weeks and 5 days...7lbs. 12oz.!)

Peek-a-boo...we see you! His hands are covering his face here...

Eyes, nose and fingers covering his mouth...

His hands are squishing his face a little, but you can still see his little eyes (closed), nose and part of his mouth...
