Our first date night since AJ has joined our family...my Aunt Janice (who is also our neighbor) kept him. We enjoyed dinner at Abuelo's Mexican Restaurant and went to Morty's Comedy Club.

Ahhh, spring has finally sprung! My Aunt Franny (the landscaping/gardening guru of the family, whom I've deemed my lawn and garden mentor...LOL!) AJ and I went on a field trip to a few local nurseries...these are Vinca's that I picked up from our local nursery to plant in our yard this year...beautiful!

ok, true story, I picked up Adrian's birthday cake at Marsh (local family...you know the one on 71st and Michigan Road)...yea, I'm putting them on blast because I go in to buy the premade sheet cake pictured here and I ask the guy behind the counter "Sir, can you please put 'Happy Birthday Adrian' on this cake?"...he said that he didn't write very well on cakes, but I thought to myself, well surely it can't be that bad he is behind the bakery counter after all...that all changed when I saw the lady behind the counter in non-uniform writing on a cake, she was in non-uniform because she was a CUSTOMER writing her own sentiment on the cake she was about to purchase...TOOOO FUNNY!!! So I followed suit, because really how often do ya' get to write on your own storebought cake...and well, some situations you just shouldn't take too seriously...so here is my rendition of "Happy Birthday Adrian"...go easy on me, I haven't written on a cake since Home Economics...LOL!

A Week of Outings...

This was a week of outings, the most AJ has been out, including his doctor's visit, lunch with his Paw Paw and Great-Grandmother (my Dad and Grandmother), my follow-up visit and we look forward to his Uncle Conrey's wedding this weekend! Also, AJ is sleeping longer at night, he is more alert during the day and he even graces us with his handsome little smile :) he's cooing and beginning to giggle just a little too (although his smiles are a bit elusive when we pull out the camera...lol!)
